Travelling 28/29 October
It Begins
We packed up the trailer in sleet and tne first attempt of snow for the season. It made it a very quick load and go situation where we just threw most things into the fifth wheel and the truck and decided to sort things out later.
We were still unsure of which way to go and decided to follow John and Karen’s suggestion of the I77 to I79 route and taking the Mountaineer Parkway. With having the fifth wheel attached we had not planned to stop on the side of the road and take pictures as many people did, we were hoping to see what we could as we drove by. We adn’t planned on some of the grades going through the mountains. We hit some that were 5 and 6 percent as well. The truck running ramps were a clue to how steep the going was both up and down. Some of the slopes were long and encompassed 5 or 6 miles of grade. We were glad we had serviced the truck and trailer brakes before we left.
The colours were changing and the trees and scenery were beautiful.
