Waiting for the Gatineau Balloons to Launch with Friends
& Helping a Sailor
5 September 2015
We were some of many boats waiting for the balloons to launch. We enjoyed the fun and friends but the balloons never launched. There was not enough wind that evening and earlier they were worried about too much wind. But such is life when there is no control over mother nature. Tom and I left while the others were staying to make dinner and spend the evening waiting for the fireworks and the next mornings launch of the balloons.
When we came back to the dock Mike Bajurny was getting ready to take his boat out to transport to Toronto. It was a process with Gary getting totally wet to aid the cause and Mike complaining about a soaker (he got his foot wet).
