1/2 Cup Corn Starch
1/2 Cup Icing Sugar
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
3/4 Cup Butter Softened
Sift together corn starch, icing sugar and flour. With spoon, blend in butter until soft, smooth dough forms. Shape into 1 inch balls. If dough is too soft to handle, cover and chill 1 hour. Place 1 1/2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet; flatten. Alternately, roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness; cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Decorate. Bake in 300 degree farenheit (150 degree centigrade) oven 10 – 15 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Makes about two dozen.
A minor variation is to add 1/4 cup ground almonds to the mixture and make into crescent shapes. After the cookies are cooked sprinkle with icing sugar.
